The overwhelming atmosphere of the garden, orchard and pastures with a skyline formed by dunes and waddendyke, adds an almost timeless grace to the location. At night struck by the beams of the lighthouse.

GardenDeluxe

Northwest situated double bedroom, overloooking the orchard. There is an extra bed on the splitlevel for an eventual 3th person. Small fridge with complementary drinks. Garden doors give access to the north-garden nicely enclosed by wall-trees.

GardenSuite

The hotel has two GardenSuites, one of them situated on the south and the other on the north site of the mainbuilding. The GardenSuites consists of two connected rooms. They both have an ensuite bathroom and kitchen facilities. A design sleeping couch gives the possiblity to create an extra doublebed. Garden doors give access to the north- or south garden.

GardenLoft

A separate appartment is situated in the western barn, the former horse stable. The GardenLoft consists of a spacious multifunctional lounge with a kitchen, a bathroom with bath and separate shower and a double bed on the mezzanine. A design sleeping couch gives the possiblity to create an extra doublebed in the lounge. Garden doors give access to a large private terrace in the orchard.

Your stay at Dit Eiland includes:

At your request we provide your room with a TV set with DVD player.

Dit Eiland consists of four building volumes, reflecting four different era in the history of the location:

1. the proprietors house, build in the early thirties

2. main building, dated about 1750, former 'commandeurs-house', carpenters workshop and farmbuilding. Nowadays accommodating Dit Eiland's gallery, lounge and 2 GardenSuites and 1 GardenDeluxe

3. new wintergarden and hotel entrance (2000). Your breakfast is served here

4. characteristic Amelander barn, build in the first half of the 20th century. Accommodates the GardenLoft and can also be used as multifunctional meeting or dining room in case of exclusive use.

One of Hollum's oldest group of fruittrees gels into a stylised garden. The sculptures, terraces and beds with wild plants make the hotel garden a place for inspiration and relaxation.

The view from under the roof of foliage over the meadows to the dunes and western skies makes you wonder what to bother... just sitting there is enough...

Alongside the Kerkepad Dit Eiland maintains a pasture reserve since 1999. A delayed mowing-season and a ban to artificial fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides are the most pregnant measures in the managing proces.

The increase of local flora and (macro)fauna in the terrain is already evident. Our long term objective is to accommodate a complete ecosystem reflecting the specific living pasture once characteristic for Ameland.
