Northwest situated double bedroom with garden doors. There is an extra bed on the splitlevel for an eventual 3th person. Small fridge and coffee facilities. Adjustable beds with handmade matrasses and an ensuite bathroom.

The hotel has two GardenSuites, situated on the south and the north site. The GardenSuites consists of two connected rooms with garden doors. They both have an ensuite bathroom, kitchen facilities and adjustable beds with handmade matrasses. There is a  possiblity to create an extra doublebed.

A separate apartment is situated in the western barn, the former horse stable. The GardenLoft consists of a spacious multifunctional lounge with a kitchen, a bathroom with bath and separate shower and a double bed on the mezzanine. There is a possiblity to create an extra doublebed in the lounge. Garden doors give access to a large private terrace in the orchard.

Dit Eiland - Gallery

A wide range of paintings, printings and sculptures of leading Dutch artists forms the  basis of our collection. We offer several exhibitions  throughout the year. The gallery is open on saturday and sunday from 11.30 - 15.30 pm or on appointment.

Klaas Gubbels (1934) is one of the most influential Dutch artists. His work focusses on a limited range of subjects, such as cans, peers, chairs and tables. In the gallery we present a wide selection of sculptures, paintings, graphics etc.

Archipel MediaLab initiates artist-in-residence projects with focus on cross reality. Since 2002 artists worked on Ameland creating content for web based virtual islands. The latest project TMSPTV is about transmedia story telling for iPad.

Dit Eiland - Location

Hotel Dit Eiland is lodged in a restored 18th century building right opposite the monumental Hollummer church. The village is situated at the most western part of Ameland encircled by a chain of beautiful scenery. It's the perfect place to get acquainted with the World Heritage Site Wadden Sea.

One of Hollum's oldest orchards gels into a stylised garden. We love the contrast between areas with intensive maintenance, trimmed hedges, mowed lawns and bushy wild domains where we dont even touch a leaf. In fact Dit Eiland is one big ecological sanctuary.

The western coastal area streches from the muddy wadden flats with rich breeding colonies (Vogelpolle) in the South to the vast sandy beaches in the North.

This part of the island is truly a moving place in all weathers and tides. As if you find yourself in another time.

Hollum is characterized by its commander houses and green lanes, like the Burenlaan and Oosterlaan. Many remains from the days of whaling gives the village its special atmosphere.

You can find a variety of restaurants, shops and historic sites on walkimg distance.
